.:. NITRO INTERCLUB SERIES INFORMATION .:.

The Nitro Interclub Series is an initiative established by Penrith District Nitro Racing Inc in 2006.

The second season of competition has finished with many clubs and drivers getting involved.
Season 3 is now under way and you can view pogress and future events below.

The Nitro Interclub Series aims to foster and encourage fun and friendly competition between clubs involved with racing nitro (IC) powered radio control vehicles. It is anticipated the Nitro Interclub Series will provide an opportunity for the sharing of knowledge and advice between clubs and drivers, resulting in improving the standards and enjoyment of nitro radio control.

 

.:. SEASON 3 - 2008/2009 .:.

There have been a couple of changes made to refine the Nitro Interclub Series for Season 3. The main change is how the points are calculated. Season 3 will see only the top 5 results from each club (from any division) being used to calculate the clubs results. The total of the top 5 results from qualifying and finals are then divided by 5 to give an average result.

The other change is the introduction of an individual drivers point score. This follows the trend set by other interclub events and encourages drivers to compete at all events to improve their individual ranking. More details and results of individual drivers will be available on the website soon.

Note: Points are allocated to clubs based on their rankings after each NIS event as follows: 1=20 pts, 2=16pts, 3=14 pts, 4=12 pts, 5=10 pts, 6=9 pts, 7=8 pts, 8=7 pts, 9=6 pts, 10=5 pts. This system means that weight of numbers at a home event is not going to over influence the interclub series point score.

INDIVIDUAL DRIVER RESULTS

The Individual Driver Results are a new introduction for Series 3 of the Nitro Interclub Series.

A points system similar to AARCMCC rankings has been used with drivers being awarded 0.5pts for each qualifying position, and 1.0pts for final positions.
ie. If a drivers qualifies 4th and finishes 2nd, they would be awarded 4th x 0.5pts = 2pts + 2nd x 1pt = 2pts: TOTAL = 4.0pts

Where a driver does not attend a round, they are allocated a result following last point scoring place.

The driver with the lowest total after all 6 rounds of the Nitro Interclub Series will be awarded the NIS Champion Driver.
